Catholic Relief Services

The Office for Social Ministry serves as local leadership for Catholic Relief Services (CRS). We facilitate such CRS programs as Operation Rice Bowl, Food Fast and other poverty awareness programs that call us to be in Solidarity with our brothers and sisters across the globe and to be a voice of justice on their behalf.  CRS is the official international humanitarian agency of the Catholic community in the United States. Their aim is to alleviate suffering and provide assistance to people in need in more than 100 countries, without regard to race, religion or nationality. As an international organization that approaches emergency relief and long-term development holistically, CRS works to ensure that all people, especially the poorest and most vulnerable, are able to participate in the very fullness of life — to have access to basic necessities, health care and education — all within peaceful, just communities.
