IN MEMORY OF POPE FRANCIS

A Bridge to Life: Honoring Pope Francis’ Vision for the Church

In the spirit of Pope Francis, we are reminded that the Church is a place of mercy, of hope, and where everyone is welcomed and loved. His call echoes louder than ever in our world today, urging us to become a living reflection of God’s love for all people, especially those on the margins.

In a Vatican Easter message just before his passing, Pope Francis is quoted:

“Let the Church and the world rejoice, for today our hopes no longer come up against the wall of death, form the Lord has built us a bridge to life.” ~Pope Francis

The powerful image of this Easter message reminds us that Christ’s Resurrection is more than a promise—it is a path forward. A bridge over sorrow, division, and despair…leading us toward new life, healing, and unity.

We give thanks to God for Pope Francis, who in turn asks us to pray for the church.

As we walk this bridge together, may our parishes, communities, and hearts always be places where mercy flows freely, where hope is shared generously, and where all who enter feel truly seen, embraced, loved and forgiven.
