In an effort to address what the Vatican perceives as a “sign of the times,” Pope Francis published his papal message on August 21, 2017 calling for global change in policies and behaviors toward migrants and refugees. The Holy Father identified four ways we can all respond to those who have been forced from their homes due to persecution, poverty, war and violence:
- To welcome,
- to protect,
- to promote,
- and to integrate.
