WORKING ON THE MARGINS

FIGHT POVERTY. DEFEND HUMAN DIGNITY.

43 million Americans live below the poverty line. You can help by donating to the U.S. Bishops’ Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) at mass! CCHD is an annual collection dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty by

  • funding community programs that empower marginalized groups,
  • and seeking solutions to improve their lives as part of Catholic Social Teaching.

The second collection on the weekend of November 18 is the primary source of CCHD funding, which helps bring change to communities across the country and empowers those living in poverty to transform the places they live into reflections of the Kingdom of God.

“This poor man cried and the Lord heard him.” (Ps 34:6)

Remember: 25% of the collection’s proceeds stay in our diocese to hear and respond to the cry of the poor and some of the most vulnerable in our own islands. ~ Bishop Larry Silva
